My story

Updated: Apr 30, 2020

hi,

I am in Wales for the lockdown and I've started writing a book. Here is the prologue (please comment):

Once, there was harmony. The land was happy and peaceful, and magic lived everywhere. It grew up tree trunks like ivy, it glinted on water and it shone in sunlight. But a kingdom that is blissful and beautiful like Terra-orbis can never stay that way and so fate came to challenge them. The queen had two fine sons and a glamorous daughter. They were each intelligent, proud and happy. However, Almu and Tamal (her sons) were not as abundantly lucky as many would think; when they were very young the queen found out that they were cursed with a terrible loss - they did not have the gift of magic. One day, the three children had an argument. Amalia (the oldest) was ashamed that her brothers lacked the sacred gift. Tamal who was named after learning, was the most intelligent boy in the kingdom and he had discovered that he could live just as well without magic in his heart and without relying on the moon. So, he argued with Amalia and called him and Almu “Humans” he said that they were superior to all beings magic, he told Almu to run away with him and spread the curse, so that there were many Humans in the world and they could beat the magic and show they were better. Almu was named after contentment and loved his life. Though he was cursed he was very fond of magic and refused to go with his brother. This was the great argument. As a result of the disagreement the kingdom was split into thirds called brokans: Purissimum was a brokan created by Amalia and it was all the magic creatures who wanted to isolate and not be affected by the curse, everything there is still able to create magic from within themselves.

Exitum was a brokan created by Tamal, all the beings there were humans, they didn’t use magic, instead they created destructive machines and destroyed all magic and beauty in their path.

The third brokan, Alquamar, was all things that still followed the queen and her youngest son Almu who was her heir. Although none of them could create magic they still used it and worshipped the moon which was the source of their magic. They called themselves magicians.

And so it was that hatred bloomed in a kingdom that was once full of love and joy. The hatred grew like mould, all over the kingdom it spread like a disease. It chiseled away at the back of everyone’s mind until all that was left was pride. It crept into people's hearts until even the warmest were no longer driven by love and kindness. There was a prophecy though, it spoke of a magician child who would be born with the gift of magic and spread it, uniting all three brokans and bringing love and peace back to Terra-orbis.
